How To Find Missing Email

How To Find Missing Email

  • If you are expecting an email that has not arrived, there are a few quick checks you can do to find out what happened. Emails can be delayed, filtered, or blocked for different reasons, and this guide will help you track them down.

    1. Check Your Junk or Spam Folder

Sometimes a legitimate message is incorrectly marked as spam.

    1. Open your email programme or Webmail.
    2. Look for a folder called Spam, Junk, or Bulk Mail.
    3. If you find the message there, mark it as Not Spam or Move to Inbox.

This helps your mailbox learn which emails you want to receive.

    2. Check Your Trash or Deleted Items

It is possible the message was deleted accidentally.

    1. Open Trash or Deleted Items.
    2. Look for recent messages.
    3. Restore the message if you see it.

    3. Make Sure Your Mailbox Is Not Full

A full mailbox will stop new mail from being delivered.

    To check your storage:

    1. Log in to Mweb Webmail.
    2. In the Top Bar, go to Reports à Disk Usage.
    3. If it is full, delete old emails or empty your Spam and Trash folders.

If you need more space, you can upgrade your mailbox size.

    4. Check the Sender’s Email Address

    Ask the sender to confirm:

    • They used the correct spelling
    • They did not include extra spaces or punctuation
    • They did not send to an alias you no longer use

A small mistake in the email address will cause the message to bounce.

    5. Check Your Webmail Allow and Block Lists

You may have blocked the sender by accident.

    1. Log in to https://www.mweb.co.za/webmail
    2. In the Top Bar, go to Settings à Spam Filtering.
    3. Check your Blocked Senders.
    4. Remove any blocked addresses or domains you still want to receive mail from.

    6. Check Your AntiSpam Cloud Allow and Block Lists

You may also have blocked the sender here by accident.

    1. Log in to https://u.mweb.co.za/spam.
    2. Go to Protection.
    3. Choose Sender block list - incoming.
    4. Remove any blocked addresses you still want to receive mail from.

    7. Search for the Message in Antispam Cloud

If the email is not in your mailbox, it may still be in the filtering system.

    How to check:

    1. Log in at https://login.antispamcloud.co....
    2. Select Protection.
    3. Choose Logs - incoming.
    4. Enter the time period you are expecting the message.
    5. Click Show Results.

You will see whether the email was:

    • Delivered
    • Quarantined
    • Rejected
    • Failed
    • Marked as spam

    8. Check the Quarantine Folder

If Antispam Cloud flagged the email as suspicious, it will appear in quarantine.

    To check:

    1. Go to Spam Quarantine in the left menu.
    2. Search for the sender or subject.
    3. If the message is legitimate, click Release to deliver it to your inbox.

    9. Ask the Sender to Resend the Email

    This is useful when:

    • The message failed to send on their side
    • Their server was offline
    • The email expired in the delivery queue
    • There was a temporary internet or mail server issue

    10. Check Your Internet Connection

If you are offline or experiencing connectivity issues, new mail may not load.

    Try:

    • Reconnecting to WiFi
    • Restarting your router
    • Opening Webmail to see if the message appears there

    11. Still Missing the Email?

If nothing appears after all these checks, contact Mweb Support with:

    • Your email address
    • The sender’s email address
    • The expected date and time of the email
    • The subject, if known

We can run a deeper search on the mail logs and help you track it down.
