How to Provide Message Headers When Reporting Spam

  • How to Provide Message Headers When Reporting Spam

Thank you for helping us combat spam! To investigate and resolve your report effectively, we need the full message headers of the email in question. Message headers contain critical information about the email’s origin and delivery path.

This guide will walk you through the steps to extract message headers from various email programs. Please follow the instructions specific to your email platform and resend your report to mailabuse@mweb.com, including the headers.

  • What Are Email Message Headers?

    8. Other Email Platforms

If your email platform is not listed, look for options such as "View source," "Show headers," or "Message details" in your email client’s settings or help section.

  • Why Are Message Headers Important?

    Message headers allow us to:

    • Identify the original source of the email.
    • Detect forged sender addresses.
    • Track the path the email took through the internet.

Without this information, our ability to act on your spam report is limited.

  • Additional Tips

    • When forwarding spam emails, ensure you include the headers to retain all necessary information.
    • Do not edit or truncate the header information.
    • If you encounter any issues, consult your email platform’s help documentation or contact us for assistance.
  • We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and secure email environment. If you have further questions, feel free to reach out to us.
