How to setup Outlook 365 on a Windows Computer

• Microsoft Outlook 365 is a powerful mail client bundled with the Microsoft 365 Suite, which is a great choice for Windows and Mac users to manage their Mweb mailboxes.
  
  Follow the easy guide below to setup Outlook 365 on your Microsoft Windows based computer.

• You will need to have your username and password for your mailbox ready.
  
  If you’re not sure how to find those you can follow this guide.

• To get started we need to locate the Outlook Settings Screen :

  Search For Control Panel

  Click the Search Icon on the Windows Taskbar
  
  Search for Control Panel and launch it.

  Screen to Open.

  Search for Outlook Settings

  Use the Search box on the top right to Search for Outlook.

  Once found, click on the link to Open the Outlook Settings Dialog.
• Once you have located the Outlook Settings you can proceed with setting up your Mweb Mailbox:

  Open Email Accounts

  To setup your Mweb Mailbox Open the Settings for Email Accounts.

  Start the Add Account Wizard

  Choose Manual Setup and click Next.

  Choose Account Type

  Select POP or IMAP and click Next.

  Fill in mailbox and server details

  1. Your Preferred Name
  2. Email Address
  3. Account Type (IMAP)
  4. Incoming Server (imap.mweb.co.za)
  5. Outgoing Server (smtpauth.mweb.co.za)
  6. Mailbox Username and Password

  Do not click on Next yet, you first need to open the More Settings window.

  Outgoing Server Authentication

  Click on the Outgoing Server tab:

  1. Tick My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
  2. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server

  Switch to the Advanced tab to continue

  Ports and Encryption Settings

  For Incoming Server (IMAP):

  1. Set the Port as 993

  2. Set the Encryption method as SSL/TLS

  
  

  For Outgoing Server (SMTP)

  3. Set the Port as 587

  4. Set the Encryption method as STARTTLS
  
  Now click on OK to Return to the Account settings Screen.
  

  Finishing Up

  Now you can click Next to complete the wizard and test your connection

  Test Account Settings

  • The Wizard will automatically test incoming and outgoing settings.
  • If one of these tests fails go back and check your login details and the server port and encryption settings are exact.

  
  

  Click Close when the test completes.

  Close Account Settings

  Once your mailbox has been added you can click Close and begin using Microsoft Outlook.
